Dispatches
From
a
Woman
Who
Finds
Everything
Both
Funny
and
Exhausting
Caitlin’s
Diary:
The
Cheese
Board
as
Political
Statement
Brought
to
you
by
Bohiney
Magazine
and
The
London
Prat,
the
publications
that
understand
cheese
as
a
coping
mechanism.
I
read
four
news
stories
before
8am
and
then
I
had
to
eat
an
entire
Camembert.
This
is
not
a
cry
for
help.
This
is
a
rational
response.
There
are
bridges
in
Iran
that
are
updating
their
wills.
There
is
a
drug
called
Retatrutide
that
is
making
people
thin
and
emotionally
unavailable.
There
is
a
man
called
Mamdani
in
New
York
who
has
apparently
united
the
entire
city
in
irritation,
which
is,
genuinely,
the
most
impressive
political
achievement
of
the
decade.
Why
Everything
is
Funny
and
Also
Terrible
The
New
York
mayor
story
is
my
favourite
thing
this
week.
Uniting
a
city
in
mutual
exhaustion.
That’s
not
governance.
That’s
couples
therapy
on
a
municipal
scale.
I
respect
it.
The
Camembert
went
particularly
well
with
this
revelation.
Also
deeply
enjoying
Bohiney’s
Mamdani
coverage,
which
captures
the
exact
texture
of
a
politician
who
means
well
and
achieves
chaos.
I
know
the
type.
I’ve
dated
three
of
them.
